Step One: Bacterial Balance
Scientific studies have shown that people with fresh breath have high levels of the beneficial oral bacteria Streptococcus salivarius living on their tongue. These beneficial oral bacteria primarily break down carbohydrates, not proteins, so produce little odour. On the other hand, people with chronic bad breath typically have low levels of these bacteria, and their tongues instead become inhabited with the odour causing bacteria responsible for bad breath. Both KForce Starter Kits contains these beneficial bacteria, and is used as the first step in a revolutionary new approach to help fight the bacteria that cause bad breath.

Step Two: Tongue Cleaning
The bacteria that cause bad breath live in coatings or biofilms on the tongue, under the gums and around the teeth. If these coatings are not removed every day, then they will promote bacteria growth and increased bad breath smells. The Tongue Cleaning Regime we recommend is designed to help remove these coatings from all surfaces. Our cleaning gels are designed with healthy ingredients so as not to upset sensitive tongues. All our cleaning gels contain fluoride to help prevent tooth decay as well as pyrophosphates to reduce tartar buildup. This means the cleaning gels can be used for both the tongue and teeth every day.

Step Three: Lifestyle Changes
The third step of the program involves specific lifestyle changes. Studies of patients at our BreezeCare Clinic in Australia have shown that avoiding certain proteins that breakdown to Cysteine and Methionine will go along way in avoiding bad breath. The most common proteins that break down to these amino acids are dairy products, nasal mucous and blood from bleeding gums.

Next it is important to avoid dry mouth. Dry mouth triggers growth of anaerobic bacteria, and it is these bacteria that cause the bad breath problem. To stop dry mouth you should avoid all types of alcohol, whether as a drink or alcohol (ethanol) in most commercial mouthwash. Commercial mouthwash is designed to kill mouth bacteria. At the BreezeCare Clinic we have found that bacterial balance is a far better and long term successful approach to stopping bad breath. Also avoid coffee, and stress, as these are dry mouth triggers.

Now Maintain your Fresh Breath
Dr Speiser recommends that all patients begin with the Balance or BreathGuard Starter Kit for 4 weeks minimum. At the end of this time, the patient should assess their situation.
